Global Blood Therapeutics Announces Closing Of Initial Public Offering And Exercise Of Over-Allotment Option

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - August 17, 2015) - Global Blood Therapeutics, Inc. (GBT) (NASDAQ: GBT), a biopharmaceutical company developing novel therapeutics for the treatment of grievous blood-based disorders with significant unmet needs, today announced the closing of its initial public offering of 6,900,000 shares of common stock at an initial public offering price of $20.00 per share, which includes the exercise in full by the underwriters of their option to purchase up to 900,000 additional shares of common stock. All of the shares in the offering were offered by GBT. The company's common stock is listed on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the ticker symbol "GBT." Global Blood Therapeutics estimates net proceeds from the offering to be approximately $126.1 million, after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses.

Morgan Stanley and Goldman, Sachs & Co. acted as joint book-running managers for the offering. Cowen and Company and Wedbush PacGrow acted as co-managers.
