German Firm, Fresenius SE Buying G.I. Drug maker, American Pharmaceutical Partners; Deal Valued at about $3.7 Billion
A growing German health care company has agreed to buy a U.S. generic drug maker whose Grand Island facility recently disclosed it was seeking to expand. Fresenius SE said it will purchase Schaumburg, Ill.-based American Pharmaceuticals Partners Inc. (APP) for $23 per share in cash -- a deal valued at about $3.7 billion.
