Doximity Appoints Former U.S. Surgeon General to Its Board of Directors

 

SAN FRANCISCO, March 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Doximity, the leading digital platform for medical professionals, announced today the appointment of Regina Benjamin, MD, MBA, to its Board of Directors. Dr. Benjamin served as the 18th U.S. Surgeon General (2009-2013) under President Barack Obama. She is the founder of BayouClinic, Inc. in Bayou La Batre, Alabama and the NOLA.com/Times Picayune Endowed Chair of Public Health Sciences at Xavier University of Louisiana. Dr. Benjamin was the first physician under the age of 40 and the first African American woman to be elected to the American Medical Association Board of Trustees.
