WALTHAM, Mass., /PRNewswire/ -- Devoted Health today announced approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to offer Medicare Advantage Plans in the state of Florida. The healthcare company is building a new provider network with some of the most trusted doctors and hospitals in Central and South Florida. Starting in 2019, the company will serve two Medicare Advantage HMO plans to its members in the following eight counties — Broward, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pinellas, Polk, and Seminole.

Devoted Health is on a mission to make healthcare more affordable, caring, and attentive. Leading the company's Florida launch is health insurance industry veteran Dariel Quintana. As the company's Florida market president, he is working with Devoted Health founders Ed Park and Todd Park to build a network of hand-picked doctors and providers who share a common goal — to create a more seamless, personal healthcare experience.

"I'm truly excited about the network of hospitals and doctors we are building for Florida's seniors. Our members will be treated like our family and served by providers who are committed to delivering unparalleled service to their patients," said Quintana. Ed Park and Todd Park also built Athenahealth, a leading provider of cloud-based software and services for doctors and other healthcare professionals. With Devoted Health, the two brothers are now committed to providing simpler, more effective healthcare for people on Medicare.

"We think there's a better way to provide great care and at a high level. Our approach is simple. Devoted Health is preparing to deliver the right care, at the right place, at the right time for patients who need it, and with great doctors who care," said Devoted Health co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Ed Park.
