CoreValve, S.A. Elects Retired U.S. District Court Trial Judge Barbara A. Caulfield, Esq., as Its Seventh Director
IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CoreValve (www.corevalve.com) announced today that it has elected the Hon. Barbara A. Caulfield (Ret.) as a member of its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Ms. Caulfield serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel with Affymetrix Inc., which she joined in July 2001. From 1994 until June 2001 she was a partner at the law firms of Latham & Watkins and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where she developed expertise in mediation of life science and computer technology disputes. Her litigation experience includes clients such as Microsoft, Hoffmann-La Roche, Apple Computer, Eaton Corporation, and Mobil oil. Previously, Ms. Caulfield served as United States District Judge for the Northern District of California from 1991 to 1994. Prior to her tenure on the U.S. District Court, Ms. Caulfield was chief litigation counsel for Pacific Bell Telephone Company, a partner for Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, and a Professor of Law at the University of California, Hastings Law School and University of Oregon Law School. Ms. Caulfield earned her B.S. and J.D. from Northwestern University, and is a member of the National Patent Board.
