NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., Feb. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --Cmed Technology, an eClinical technology provider, announced today it will host a roundtable and give a presentation about electronic data capture (EDC) pain points this week at the Summit for Clinical Ops Executives (SCOPE) conference at Florida's Westin Colonnade Coral Gables hotel.
As part of SCOPE's two-day "Electronic Data In Clinical Trials" session, today's interactive roundtable discussion, "What Pain Points Are You Experiencing With EDC Systems?", at 4:30 p.m. highlights some of the issues and frustrations that sponsors and investigator sites are experiencing with today's EDC systems. Cmed Technology also will present "Sites+EDC Does Not Have To=Pain: Building eClinical Platforms for Real-World Scenarios" tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. This stand-alone presentation focuses on the need for eClinical providers to re-examine their approach to EDC systems in order to create an optimal experience.
Throughout the conference, Cmed Technology also will conduct live demonstrations at its Booth 12 of Timaeus 5, a unified on-demand eClinical platform, using notebook PCs and the Apple iPad®. Available now to customers, Timaeus 5, which manages clinical data from Study Design through Reporting, was previewed in October 2010.

"Because the Summit for Clinical Ops Executives caters to a select group of executives, directors and managers, SCOPE engages with vendors like Cmed Technology that are not only experts in the their field like EDC but also innovators in the eClinical industry," said Micah Lieberman, Executive Director of Conferences for the BioPharma Strategy Series, of the Cambridge Healthtech Institute (CHI) that oversees SCOPE. "As a result, our 450 delegates will be walking away from the seminars with clear answers and a more definitive direction to overcome their EDC problems."
