Cheetah Medical to support onsite ExpoEd sessions at NTI focused on implementing nurse-driven protocols and education for sepsis management

NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cheetah Medical, a Boston-based leader in non-invasive fluid management, today announced it will offer educational sessions and preview the company’s new Virtual Trainer app at the 2019 National Teaching Institute (NTI) & Critical Care Exposition annual meeting, May 20-23 in Orlando, Fl.

“The NTI conference continues to be a pivotal forum for providing continued education for nurses who work in critical care settings,” said Chris Hutchison, president and CEO of Cheetah Medical. “We are proud to invest in this ongoing education by showcasing our Virtual Trainer and offering sessions on the importance of fluid management in sepsis treatment.”

As part of NTI’s ExpoEd, Cheetah Medial will support a series of 30-minute educational sessions that focus on the importance of implementing nurse driven protocols and education for dynamic assessment and fluid management in sepsis. Each session awards 0.5 continuing education recognition points (CERPs). These sessions include:

“Sepsis is among the most common causes of death in the hospital setting,” said Teresa Jones RN, MSN, CCRN-K, Director of Critical Care at Cookeville Regional Med Center. “As clinicians, it is crucial to have the education and training to properly recognize and respond to sepsis and septic shock.”

Cheetah Medical will also be previewing the company’s new Virtual Trainer app throughout the conference at its booth (#2317). Virtual Trainer is an app for iPad that provides educational modules focused on the importance of optimizing fluid management for critically ill patients. This app also has a patient simulation experience where you can test your knowledge in the safety of a virtual critical care environment and learn how to use Cheetah’s Starling SV monitoring system to effectively guide your treatment path.
