ELLICOTT CITY, Md., Feb. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) announced today that Bristol-Myers Squibb Company has joined the organization as a Global Impact Partner (GIP). SCRS' GIP Program provides a unique opportunity for sponsors, CROs and vendors to engage with SCRS and its members in an impactful manner. Becoming a GIP demonstrates Bristol-Myers Squibb's commitment to clinical research sites and their desire to develop a deeper understanding of the needs of sites, and contribute to the development and implementation of solutions.

"Bristol-Myers Squibb is excited to join SCRS as a GIP, as we believe this affords us an exceptional opportunity to understand the needs of patients, their caregivers and our clinical trial site partners," said Kathryn Owen, head of global clinical operations, research and development at Bristol-Myers Squibb. "Our aim in joining SCRS is to engage with clinical trial staff, to ask questions and to listen to the needs they and their patients have of Bristol-Myers Squibb. This will support our goal to assure that life-changing medicines are made available to our patients, faster."

"Strengthening the patient's relationship with industry is critically important and sites, with the primary responsibility for interfacing with the patients, have a unique perspective to share," said SCRS president Christine Pierre. "We're excited to welcome Bristol-Myers Squibb as a GIP and look forward to collaborative efforts to support and strengthen sites success."
