Boys & Girls Clubs in New Hampshire Awarded New Grants by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation

Grants provide each Club $5,000 to improve health & wellness factors among youth and create healthier future generations

MANCHESTER, N.H., Nov. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Through Triple Play, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation are delivering education and programming that promote the importance of physical activity and proper nutrition, and enable youth to build the skills needed to overcome environmental factors that can negatively impact health and wellness. Thanks to $30,000 in Triple Play grants from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation, more youth will have access to health and wellness programming in New Hampshire.

Through the partnership, Boys & Girls Clubs in New Hampshire have made significant strides enabling youth to reach their full potential as healthy, productive adults. When comparing New Hampshire Club youth to national youth averages, for example, 73 percent of Club youth report they have never drank alcohol, compared to 37 percent of youth nationally.

Thanks to Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation, the following Clubs will receive grants to implement the Triple Play program:

  • Boys & Girls Club of Greater Derry
  • Boys & Girls Club of the North Country
  • Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem
  • Soule School Extension
  • Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region
  • Concord Boys & Girls Club

The Triple Play grants are part of a five-year, $10 million commitment to Boys & Girls Clubs of America by The Anthem Foundation, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation's parent company.
