MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- In recognition that clinical services are key to meeting its mission, Nexus has named Dr. Michelle K. Murray as Chief Clinical Officer. As part of its strategic vision, Nexus will continue to increase the focus on clinical services by expanding its use of evidence-based interventions, meeting individualized service needs, and improving clinical functions as part of a commitment to meet the growing needs and challenges in the mental health field.
Dr. Murray previously served as Vice President of Clinical Services for Nexus. She joined Nexus in 2010 as the Director of Clinical Services, and was promoted to Vice President of Clinical Services in 2015. She was also responsible for the onboarding and development of new clinical services, providing leadership to Nexus' Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) endeavors, and developing clinical trainings.
In her new role, Dr. Murray will focus on clinical outcomes, new service development, clinical training and staff expertise, furthering the organization's implementation of the practice model, and utilizing evidence-based, best practices across services.
Nexus CEO Brock Wolff said, "The number of youth and families in need of services has never been higher, and the problems we are addressing are increasingly complex and challenging. In her time with Nexus, Michelle has proven to be a strong leader with a keen clinical mind. She has led her teams to help Nexus services implement trauma-informed and family-driven care, and to develop the Nexus Practice Model. I have complete trust in her ability to lead the organization's clinical initiatives and to support those who provide clinical leadership and direct services to the youth and families we serve. Michelle has earned and deserves this opportunity."
Dr. Murray has 19 years of experience in the field. Before joining Nexus, she worked for Adelphoi Village/Northern Tier Children's Home as the Director of a 62-bed residential
treatment facility that served both female and male youth with co-occurring mental health issues and sexually problematic behaviors.
