FireflySci Presents New Test Plate Line For Instrument Validation Of Microplate Readers

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Nov. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Any quality assurance, metrology or quality control person knows all too well, the stress that an ISO audit can bring about. Hearing about an upcoming ISO-17025 audit is enough to make one break into a cold sweat. A section 5.6 nonconformance, i.e. using a non-approved or un-accredited calibration provider is one of the more common nonconformances and can cause expensive setbacks in the laboratory. Imagine having to replace all of your calibration equipment because it was obtained from an unaccredited supplier. FireflySci is able to provide comfort and peace of mind with its new line of test plate calibration standards for microplate spectrophotometers.

Instrument validation is assured with FireflySci's NRC Canada-benchmarked, ISO-17025, ISO-Guide 34 test plate line for microplate readers. With a full range of absorbance, luminescence and fluorescence plates, instrument validation through the use of test plates is a quick and painless procedure. For a basic spectrophotometer calibration, the VPL-01 plate covers photometric accuracy and wavelength accuracy in the UV/VIS range. For this test plate, FireflySci uses the same blend of nanodeposition neutral density glass and holmium oxide that has propelled its line of spectrophometer standards to the forefront of the global calibration market.

For users with a fluorescence microplate reader, FireflySci also carries an FLVP-01 test plate, which can calibrate for a variety of points within the range of 290-562nm. With a mixture of several elements including Anthracene, Compound 610, Napthalene, Ovalene, Terphenyl, Tetraphenylbutadiene and Rhodamine.

To round off its new line of products, FireflySci also contains a cuvette adapter, which enables users to fit any of its highly popular cuvette-shaped standards such as the FUV Series, WAV-7 and HF Series into a microplate reader.

Finding a good test plate for a microplate reader is often a difficult enough process but recalibrating an existing microplate calibration standard can be a true pain. Many companies tend to have an opaque instrument validation procedure when a customer sends in their plate and will only tell the end users that their plates either pass or fail. This is not much consolation for a QC manager, who is being asked to furnish calibration data for their ISO audit. FireflySci's recalibration procedure is a quick and transparent process, which typically takes about 2 weeks and comes with a full, NIST-traceable certificate of calibration, which will pass muster with any audit.

Every test plate, just as all of FireflySci's calibration products, are backed up by a lifetime warranty and hassle-free return policy.
