Blood tests for prostate cancer can miss abnormalities that physical exams are able to identify as potential problems, research shows. The digital rectal exam is an important screening test that can discover prostate cancer that a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test may not, despite the higher sensitivity of the PSA test, say the researchers.
