Pfizer Inc. Legal Win Might Block Some Celebrex Lawsuits: Report

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Pfizer Inc scored a victory Monday through a federal ruling that might wipe out some lawsuits alleging its painkiller Celebrex caused heart attacks and strokes, the Wall Street Journal reported in its online edition. Judge Charles Breyer of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled that the plaintiffs in the litigation had not presented scientifically reliable evidence that Celebrex caused heart attacks or strokes when taken at a daily dosage of 200 milligrams, which is the most common dosage, the Journal said.
