Pall Life Sciences Introduces Worldwide Advertising And Marketing Campaign

East Hills, N.Y. -- January 29, 2008 -- As one of the world’s largest manufacturers of single-use systems for the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, Pall Life Sciences, a business of Pall Corporation (NYSE: PLL), has introduced a year-long advertising and marketing campaign that explains the many benefits of Pall Allegro™ single-use systems. The program is designed to reach key decision makers in more than 80 countries through direct mail, e-mail blasts, advertising and technical articles, seminars and the debut of new Pall literature that conveys the cost reductions and other advantages associated with single-use systems.

Known for its high performance reusable stainless steel systems, Pall introduced single- use systems several years ago. Based on core Pall filter, sterile connector and system engineering technologies, the company’s single-use systems provide significant advantages when compared to conventional stainless steel systems. Single-use provides more flexible use of space and speed when implementing a new production line. It reduces, or eliminates, hazardous cleaning chemicals along with cleaning validation, water consumption and energy. Single-use also reduces the risk of cross-contamination between batches and products.

Pall’s Allegro single-use systems (scalable from the manufacturing of small clinical batches to full production) include Pall Allegro 2D and 3D biocontainers (featuring ultra-low extractables, superior clarity and connectivity), Allegro 3D totes (with enhanced ease of use), Kleenpak™, Kleenpak Nova and Novasip™ filter capsules (for particulate and bioburden reduction, sterilization and even mycoplasma and virus removal), Mustang® membrane chromatography capsules (including the convenient Mustang XT5000 large-scale capsule format) and Kleenpak sterile connectors (permitting the simple dry connection of two separate pre-sterilized fluid pathways while maintaining the sterile integrity of each).

“The marketing and communications initiative will convey how Pall Allegro single-use systems save money and time, and how Pall’s expertise in filtration systems provide support through the development, process engineering and implementation stages, and help bring new products to market,” said Zoch Zamaniyan, vice president, biopharmaceuticals, Pall Life Sciences.

“Single-use disposable technology is a proven alternative solution. By reducing cross contamination, it provides a greater assurance of sterility. It also reduces capital investment costs for facilities and equipment, lowers costs associated with cleaning and associated cleaning validation, and reduces lead times to help get products to market faster. In applications that process hazardous materials, such as cytotoxic drugs and potent biological materials, closed disposable systems isolate operators from dangers.”

Pall offers a broad range of advanced filtration and separation solutions for each critical stage of drug development. Pall’s direct and tangential flow filtration technologies are used for biomass removal, clarification, particulate and bioburden reduction, prefiltration, sterile filtration of liquids and gases, mycoplasma and virus clearance, endotoxin and DNA removal, and biomolecule purification and concentration.

Pall’s concept of Total Fluid ManagementSM (TFM) provides customers with a trusted partner that supports their efforts to deliver quality and safe products. The Pall vision is that one day all fluids will pass through Pall filters.
