New Board of Directors for Association of Clinicians for the Underserved

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Thursday, March 15 – The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU), the premier organization of clinicians, advocates, and healthcare organizations that provide healthcare for the underserved, has announced the recent addition of two new members to its board of directors. Nataly Diaz, associate director of workforce development at the California Primary Care Association, and Doug Olson, vice-president at Fair Haven Community Health Care, have acceded to the board alongside 11 other directors.

“We are pleased to welcome Nataly to our board of directors,” said Craig Kennedy, executive director of ACU. “She has shown a commitment to creating a robust and diverse health care workforce, and she well understands the importance of establishing health services that are responsive to the many unique needs of underserved communities. I have no doubt that Nataly will continue to prove herself to be an invaluable asset to our mission moving forward.”

In her previous role, Nataly was instrumental in securing a $100 million, three-year investment in primary care physician residency programming. She also helped to establish the Workforce Policy Coalition, made up of more than 60 multisector partners dedicated to addressing California’s workforce crisis.

“We’re also excited to welcome Doug Olson to our board of directors,” added Craig Kennedy. “His extensive experience across a variety of health disciplines brings a wealth of knowledge to the board. In addition to his administrative leadership, Doug is a board-certified practicing physician who brings a crucial wealth of clinical experience.”

Dr. Olson is presently serving as vice president of clinical affairs at Fair Haven Community Health Care in New Haven, Connecticut, where he focuses on clinical integration, change management, health reform, and value improvement. In addition, he serves as a fellow in a variety of organizations, including the American College of Physicians, American Society of Addiction Medicine, and the Federation of State Medical Boards.

With the appointments of Diaz and Olson, the ACU board of directors includes Virna Little, president; Felix L. Nuñez, vice president; Marc Overbeck, treasurer; Kirsten Thomsen, secretary; Rohit Abraham; Adrian Billings; Juli Hishida; Ellis Frazier; Jim Hotz; Michael Mank; and Earle Rugg.
