BioUtah Announces Headline Speakers for the 2020 Virtual Utah Life Sciences Summit

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- BioUtah, Utah’s only trade association dedicated solely to the life sciences, announced today that Dr. Jeffrey Shuren, director of FDA’s CDHR, and Dr. Peter Marks, director of CBER, will take center stage on November 9 at this year’s virtual Utah Life Sciences Summit (ULSS). Dr. Shuren plays a key role in facilitating and advancing the development of safe and effective medical devices - a role that has become all the more visible and critical amid the COVID-19 global pandemic. Dr. Marks is responsible for assuring the safety and effectiveness of biological products, including the review of coronavirus vaccines.

The 2020 ULSS will be live streamed November 9-11 and will feature local and nationally-recognized business leaders, government officials and subject matter experts, offering insightful plenary sessions and content-rich tracks covering a range of timely and important topics. The agenda has something for everyone, including how the life sciences industry is addressing COVID-19, industry and investor outlook, workforce considerations, diversity and the always popular regulatory track. The online programming will also include an important announcement on a Salt Lake City innovation center as well as a special awards presentation on November 11.
