Virus Linked To Type Of Head And Neck Cancer
Human papillomavirus (HPV) appears to be associated with a type of head and neck cancer that usually occurs in patients who do not drink or smoke, Dutch researchers report. They also found that HPV-containing cancers are more likely to be located in the back of the mouth than elsewhere. However, the HPV status of the tumor did not seem to affect prognosis.
