Office Test Aids Early Detection Of Lung Disease

A test that measures lung function, which can be performed during general primary care office visits, significantly improves the early detection rate of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), according to results of a study conducted in Belgium. "In our study, screening by means of office spirometry almost doubled the number of patients known with asthma or COPD," the lead author told Reuters Health.
