Johnson & Johnson has remained in the top spot on this list for many years. The company is headquartered in New Brunswick, NJ and employs over 140,000 people worldwide. J&J's products include over-the-counter medications, medical devices and consumer products such as baby shampoo and Band-Aids.

On Sep. 22, the company opened up an R&D campus in San Francisco, which will focus on digital health and house around 400 employees. J&J has also been working on an immunotherapy treatment for cancer, which has achieved FDA approval this year.
