Ocera Therapeutics, Inc. (OCRX) Announces Appointment Of Rajiv Patni, M.D. As Chief Development Officer

PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ocera Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq:OCRX), a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on acute and chronic orphan liver diseases, today announced that Rajiv Patni, M.D. has been appointed as the Company's Chief Development Officer. Dr. Patni will commence his employment with Ocera on September 2, 2014.

"Rajiv has been involved in over 15 clinical development programs, across several therapeutic areas, including acute care indications. Prior to joining Ocera, Dr. Patni served as Senior Vice President for Actelion U.S. Prior to his time at Actelion, Dr. Patni served as Vice President at Roche as well as in leadership positions at Novartis and Pfizer. Dr. Patni received his M.D. from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and served as Attending Physician at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, both in New York City.
