Suven Life Sciences Ltd Product Patents In Australia, South Korea And China

HYDERABAD, INDIA (May 19, 2014): Suven Life sciences Ltd (Suven) announces today that its drug discovery portfolio has expanded into several new therapeutic areas such as Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Obesity and Pain through Neuronal Nicotinic Receptor modulators which resulted in the grant of one (1) product patent from Australia (2009355487), one (1) product patent from South Korea (10-1376145) and one (1) product patent from China (CN 102753540B) corresponding to the New Chemical Entities (NCEs) for the treatment of disorders associated with Neurodegenerative diseases and these Patents are valid through 2029, 2029 and 2030 respectively.
The granted claims of the patents include the class of selective alpha-4-beta-2 compounds discovered by Suven and are being developed as therapeutic agents for major depressive disorder (MDD).
With these new patents, Suven has a total of seventeen (17) granted patents from Australia, thirteen (13) granted patents from South Korea and thirteen (13) product patents from China. These granted patents are exclusive intellectual property of Suven and are achieved through the internal discovery research efforts. Products out of these inventions may be out-licensed at various phases of clinical development like at Phase-I or Phase-II.
