Lyon, 18 March 2013 – Innorobo announces the presence of Arnaud Montebourg, Minister of Industrial Renewal and Michèle Delaunay, Junior Minister for the Elderly and Dependent Care, at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

For its third edition, Innorobo, the international innovation & robotics summit is honored to welcome two important ministries for this emerging industry. After the opening ceremony at 9.20 am and the visit of the exhibition hall, Arnaud Montebourg, Minister of Industrial Renewal is planning to announce “France Robot Initiative”, a national robotics plan in a conference.

France shall seize the opportunity of the "new industrial robotics," where the robot becomes a co-worker among humans so to improve productivity and competitiveness of SMEs, while relieving human beings from painful, repetitive or dangerous tasks.

Research and higher education in France are recognized worldwide for their excellence, especially in the medical and health domains. Robotic technologies provide practical solutions to serve the elderly and assist the medical and health practitioners. At Innorobo, we gather worldwide roboticists, whether from schools, research laboratories, start-ups or more established companies and confront them with a large ecosystem of investors, directors of innovations and high end representatives from various industries. Demonstrations of medical and health robots as well as more simple robotics platforms to assist the elderly and dependent persons are numerous. From the exoskeleton to the surgery robot, from autonomous vehicles through to simple mobile platforms…we involve the whole community to share and exchange on our major societal issues and how robotics technologies can help.

Innorobo opens its doors Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 9.00 am at the Cité Internationale in Lyon for three days.
