RICHMOND, VA--(Marketwire - January 14, 2013) - ALR Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: ALRT) has begun the commercial launch of the Health-e-Connect System for diabetes care in the United States and is releasing a detailed marketing video. The presentation explains how ALRT's remote monitoring and care coordination system, Health-e-Connect, has the potential to improve patient care and outcomes as well as assist health plans to reach optimal HEDIS quality goals.
"There are companies out in the marketplace who offer 'disease management' services and others offering 'remote monitoring' platforms," explained ALRT CEO Sidney Chan. "Our Health-e-Connect system is a unique product because it combines remote monitoring based on verifiable data with the robust ability to communicate with patients and clinicians to coordinate care and improve outcomes," said Mr. Chan.
ALRT President Larry Weinstein added: "We worked successfully to achieve FDA clearance for a universal software platform that allows remote monitoring of blood glucose levels and tracks the testing patterns of patients using the Health-e-Connect System. Now, in the commercial phase, trained ALRT Diabetes Care Facilitators will screen the uploaded data and facilitate the care of patients in partnership with clinicians and providers."
The video contains a detailed discussion about how the care coordination process will work and why it will be valuable to ALRT's potential customers. Jerry Hickey, ALRT's Director of Sales and Marketing explains, "Health plans need new tools to improve outcomes and achieve the best HEDIS quality scores in an increasingly competitive market place. The ALRT offering will have a significant impact in the area of diabetes care."
Pricing of the offering is based on shared financial risk that is dependent on outcomes. Customers will only pay for demonstrated efficacy.
