HOUSTON, Dec. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- eCardio Diagnostics (www.ecardio.com), a leader in remote arrhythmia monitoring services, announced today that Larry Lawson, President and Chief Executive Officer, has received an honorary doctorate degree from Lamar University.
Lamar awarded Lawson the honorary doctor of humane letters at the fall commencement ceremony in Beaumont, Tex., while conferring more than 1,200 degrees on Dec. 15.
"Larry is an outstanding businessman and a good friend to the university," said Linda Embs LeBlanc, Lamar's Director of Alumni Affairs. "It is our privilege to present him with this well-deserved honor."
Lawson attended Lamar from 1963 through 1967 and was very involved in its music programs. His musical interests led to the development of a band, The Clique, which sold more than 5 million records and was inducted into the Gulf Coast's Music Hall of Fame in 2008.

Additionally, Lawson was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2009 Award Winner in the Health Sciences Category for the Houston Gulf Coast Area, and regularly participates in events that foster entrepreneurial development and growth.
