Protein "Partner" Helps Breast Cancer Spread, Johns Hopkins University Study

Breast cancer cells preparing to spread disease around the body must first team up with a protein to activate the needed genes, researchers have learned. The discovery, published online in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, may also have implications for understanding the metastasis of other forms of cancer and may also light a path to a new treatment strategy.
