The ISBER PT program is designed for biospecimen repositories to assess the accuracy of their quality control assays, including their DNA quantification methods. The recently launched proficiency testing program dedicated a specific category for the quantification and purity testing of DNA with Trinean’s spectrophotometer and cDrop™ analytical software. “This decision of ISBER confirms that the combination of our spectrophotometer with our cDrop analytical software is a valuable alternative to the traditional methods for quantifying DNA, RNA or protein”, commented Tony Montoye, Head of Marketing. “Our innovative approach using the cDrop™ spectral analysis software is becoming a reference QC method in these institutes and as of this year the ISBER PT program allows them to validate it in a controlled way.” The ISBER inter-laboratory testing schemes aim to compare results obtained throughout laboratories around the world.
