A Massachusetts startup is partnering with Medtronic Inc. to develop a high-tech flexible membrane that could monitor electrical activity in hearts, New Scientist magazine reports. The startup, mc10 Inc., is commercializing nanotechnology developed by John Rogers at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Rogers created a flexible circuit that can be incorporated into a silicone finger-tip covering. Sensors in the covering can detect information such as pressure.
