Stem Cell Bill, If OK'd, Faces Likely Veto

The US Senate appears poised for a showdown over a controversial new stem cell bill that would loosen restrictions on federally-funded stem cell research. Senate is expected to vote in favour of the new measures – already approved by the House of Representatives – on Tuesday, raising the prospect of a veto by President George W Bush for the first time.
