MOBILE, Ala., Dec. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- HASCO Medical, Inc. (OTCBB: HASC), www.mysouthernmed.com, www.mobilityfreedom.com, a managed healthcare provider that serves patients in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi, announced today the acquisition of Certified Medical and Certified Auto of Ocala, Florida. The acquisition closed on November 16, 2011.
Certified Medical is a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) supplier that has been located in the Ocala, Florida market for 13 years. Certified Medical provides wheelchairs, scooters, power chairs and lift chairs. Most of the items sold are covered by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance. Alfredo Ollivierre, COO of Hasco stated, "This acquisition will strengthen our existing DME business while giving Hasco an entry into the State of Florida."
Certified Auto is a seller of wheelchair accessible vehicles. Both locations share the same building. At our new location we will have El Dorado as our van partner with the Amerivan series. El Dorado vans include Toyota, Dodge, Chrysler and Volkswagon. The Amerivan is the only lowered-floor minivan you can buy with an all stainless steel floor standard on all GM and Dodge models. Their sturdy aluminum power fold-out ramp features a dependable motor drive for effortless, push-button operation. Door, ramp and kneeling are all actuated with the simple touch of a button. Inside, Q-Straint tie-downs provide greater security and are located for maximum value. Wide passenger side and driver side sliding doors offer convenient, easy access for all. Amerivan conversions feature lowered rear seats and front seats which can be easily removed. The crash tested Amerivan design meets or exceeds all applicable U.S. vehicle safety standards. El Dorado National is ISO 9001:2008 Certified (www.amerivans.com).
Hal Compton, CEO of Hasco Medical stated, "We are very excited about this acquisition and what it means for Hasco Medical. This is our second acquisition in the last six months which has been a key part of our growth strategy.
