University of Rochester's New $10 Million Nanotechnology Center Could Aid Economy; New Jobs

The 20th-century story of Rochester's economy was written in large part with big ideas like xerography and business payroll outsourcing. The 21st-century chapter may well be written in small type. Very, very small type. The University of Rochester on Friday unveiled URNano, a research and fabrication facility dedicated to technology of the infinitesimally small. Known officially as the Integrated Nanosystems Center, URNano is at its heart a few thousand feet of laboratory space in the basement of the Goergen Hall for Biomedical Engineering and Optics.
