June 09, 2011 -- Isconova has entered into a new license agreement with Crucell N.V.. The agreement grants Crucell
the license to use Isconova’s adjuvant Matrix M™ in HIV and malaria vaccines. An existing
agreement between Isconova and Crucell already granted Crucell the right to use Isconova’s Matrix
M™ in influenza vaccines.

“Isconova’s Matrix M™ induces both antibody-mediated and cellular immune responses, making it
particularly suitable for vaccines in a number of disease areas. We consider it a confirmation of the
strengths of our product that Crucell has selected Matrix M™ for use in two additional vaccine areas.
In 2009, a clinical phase I trial with 60 subjects was completed by the PanFluVac consortium1, using
Isconova’s Matrix M™ adjuvant in an avian influenza vaccine. The study showed that Isconova’s
Matrix M™ adjuvant increased the number of antibody secreting cells and polyfunctional CD4+ Th1
cells. The vaccine met all set criteria and was well tolerated without any serious adverse events.
