MedPageToday -- A procedure aimed at avoiding emergency surgery for acute malignant colonic obstruction is not ready for prime time, Dutch researchers have concluded. In a randomized trial, colonic stenting had "no decisive clinical advantages" over emergency surgery, according to Jeanin E. van Hooft, MD, of the University of Amsterdam, and colleagues.
