PHOENIX, Aug. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --

  • After years of research, RESA Wearables, Inc. team has built the first all-in-one 3D laser foot scanning and 3D insole printing retail kiosks for the mass market, patent pending. RESA's kiosks produce high-quality, fully custom medical-grade orthotics for the general public right in front of the customer in one hour at competitive prices.
  • The joint venture will provide RESA with the exciting opportunity to launch its state-of-the-art technology and products in China, as well as a technical partnership with eSUN for access to eSUN's proprietary filaments and raw materials that RESA uses to create durable, flexible, eco-responsible, bio and electronically-advanced insoles.

3D-printed custom insoles maker, RESA Wearables, Inc. and raw materials provider, Shenzhen eSUN Industrial Co., Ltd. have created a joint venture to introduce RESA Wearables state-of-the-art Scan, Design, Print kiosks in major retail centers throughout China. Called Shenzhen Resun Healthcare Technology Co., Ltd., the new partnership intends to disrupt the traditional foot care and custom orthotic insoles industries through its innovative technology and immediate delivery of custom insoles.

The kiosks will feature high-accuracy 3D foot scanning with dynamic capture and mapping of the digital image, artificial intelligence CAD insole design software, and on-site 3D insole printing technology. Customers can have their feet scanned, custom insoles designed to their exact foot shape, and a pair of medical-grade, fully custom insoles 3D printed right in front of them, all within an hour.

3D printed insoles can customize a shoe's footbed shape and pressure factors to effectively adjust the hardness and stiffness of different parts of the feet, which could help patients suffering from foot pain.

Through the joint venture, as well as eSUN's investment into RESA Wearables, Inc.'s US company, eSUN and RESA will develop new proprietary materials and 3D printing techniques designed to bring to the world ongoing innovations to their insole products and new related technologies.

"The Chinese market has a rich history of being interested in body alignment and wearable technology products," says RESA Wearables, Inc. Founder and CEO Glen Hinshaw.  "This joint venture will enable us to help advance the way that Chinese people understand and address their foot care needs and how they access the products they require for optimal foot health and physical comfort and performance."

The foot care and footwear markets represent hundreds of billions of dollars in annual sales, but the majority of consumers with foot discomfort go largely underserved.  Off-the-shelf insole products do not sufficiently address most foot care needs and truly custom insoles have been primarily available through an inefficiently complicated, expensive and time-consuming process.  RESA has leveraged its highly advanced technology to change that reality.
