Job Description

•   The Research Associate will be responsible for optimizing and conducting all activities relating to manufacture of transgenic rodent models at the animal facility.
•   This person will be responsible for coordinating all micro-injection procedures with the investigators, other micro-injectionists, and the animal care staff.
•   Your team will be coordinating and optimizing procedures relating to microinjection, embryo transfer surgeries, sperm and embryo cryopreservation, genotyping at the animal facility, basic animal husbandry relating to the operation of the transgenic core and assisting with the development of new research protocols and optimization of SOPs.

•   Bachelor’s degree (or higher degree) in biology or other life science and have experience creating genetically modified mice
•   One or more years hands-on experience working in the creation of a genetically modified animals
•   Experience performing rodent surgery and embryo manipulation is necessary
•   Ability to work with minimum supervision, anticipate and solve technical problems, seek guidance when necessary, possess good interpersonal skills, and work well independently and as part of a team
