Tenure-track Faculty Appointments at all Levels Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Duke University - Pratt School of Engineering The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University invites applications for tenure-track faculty appointments at all levels. For 2013, the Department is actively seeking applications in the area of information theory and the area of optical systems/computational imaging. Academic and research programs in data analytics, photonics, microfluidics, computer architecture, computational imaging and image analysis, quantum and molecular computing, machine learning, and compressed sensing have grown dramatically in the ECE Department. Building on Duke's strengths in life sciences and environmental science, the Department's programs are strongly cross disciplinary and involve close collaboration with other departments in the Pratt School of Engineering as well as the Trinity College of Arts and Sciences, the Nicholas School of the Environment, and the School of Medicine. The ECE Department seeks highly qualified candidates with research and education synergy with existing and emerging areas of excellence, with particular interest in candidates with a demonstrated record of interdisciplinary activity. Applicants should have an earned Ph.D., evidence of the ability to pursue an independent program of research, a strong commitment to both graduate and undergraduate instruction, and the ability to initiate and conduct research across disciplines. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to build and lead a team of graduate students in Ph.D. research.
