Job Description

The Duke University Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks candidates for a tenure-track position in Environmental Engineering at the level of Assistant Professor, although exceptional candidates at other levels may be considered. While applications from all sub-disciplines of environmental engineering are encouraged, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in theoretical, computational and/or experimental approaches to understanding biological, physical, and chemical processes in the environment, including atmospheric transformations, disease agent transport, and/or the impacts of energy technologies. Environmental Engineering in the Pratt School of Engineering is coordinated with activities in the Nicholas School of the Environment. Duke is headquarters for the NSF/EPA Center for the Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology, and an NIEHS Superfund Basic Research Center. We seek applicants with a vision of collaboration and relevance for their research and teaching that is international and cross-disciplinary.
