Position Overview:
Molecular Templates is seeking a highly-skilled and highly-motivated professional to lead supply chain efforts. This position will plan and implement activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials; develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions; ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory; responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and outside services; coordinate with finance and accounting involving inventory-carrying costs; review and plan requirements for acceptable inventory; support facility management . This position will also lead in identifying continuous process improvement areas, compliance with GMP processes and documentation for compliant purchasing with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. This position will require excellent organizational, time management and project management skills, analytical and mathematical skills, and verbal and written communication skills, plus ability to apply attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities will include:
•   Manage of outbound shipments non-GMP and GMP materials. This includes, but not limited to: verification of the documentation and materials, preparation of shipment plan, packaging, entry of the shipping information, insurance request, shipment arrangement, and completion of documentation, and follow up, as needed.
•   Develop and manage GMP-compliant purchasing, receiving, inventory, and material systems to meet 21 CFR Part 211.
•   Oversee equipment and material purchases and maintenance to support research and GMP operations.
•   Management of supplier relationships.
•   Management of service providers responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of Site Services, Site Utilities, Chiller, Boiler, HVAC and Water systems. Duties include providing compliant, reliable, efficient and continuous utilities operation.
•   Support people, process, and technology to ensure reliable functionality and safety of building and environment.
•   As required, work with Finance to validate current purchase system or implement new GMP-compliant purchasing and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Reporting Structure:
This position has supervisory responsibilities. This position reports to Sr. Director of Quality.

•   Master’s degree from accredited institution in business/economics, life science, or related field; Or, Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of relevant work experience
•   A minimum of four (4) years of related supply chain management experience. Preferred experience in GMP manufacturing environment.
•   APICS certification, a plus
•   Significant and demonstrated knowledge of laboratory equipment, product use, and terminology
•   Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills applied to logistics
•   Excellent project management, time management, and multi-tasking skills
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•   Excellent computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and purchasing and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
•   Ability to manage competing priorities or projects
•   Ability to function independently and exercise good judgement
•   Ability to identify problems and solutions then take action to resolve
•   Demonstrated ability to resolve operational and strategic issues
•   Ability to understand instructions and to learn how to maintain equipment
