AIRM has a world-class R&D team, and is pursuing a diverse range of disease indications, ranging from macular degeneration (currently in clinical trials) and other ocular indications to vascular and autoimmune disease. AIRM's intellectual property portfolio includes pluripotent stem cell platforms -- both embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells as well as other cell based therapy research programs. AIRM is headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

We are seeking a highly motivated Stem Cell Research Associate, Ocular Research.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Performs experiments and process research and/or development in collaboration with others
* Makes detailed observations, analyzes data and interprets results
* Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement
* Performs cell culture and cell characterization experiments, including culture of pluripotent stem cells (ES, iPS) and their derivatives including differentiated cell populations
* Participates in and contributes to experimental design and data analysis
* Understands and effectively conducts biological laboratory experiments utilizing internal and published procedures
* Ensures availability of all experimental materials
* Ensures proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and record keeping
* Consistently completes work effectively and efficiently
* Communicates with other members of multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

Requirements   

Required:

* BS/MS or equivalent with 1+ years of relevant experience
* Solid working experience in cell culture and aseptic processing
* Working knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques, FACS, qPCR, Western Blot, ELISA, cell imaging and immunofluorescence techniques
* Attention to detail and careful record-keeping???????????????????
* Excellent and effective organizational, oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work with a variety of personnel including staff, researchers, and academic supervisors
* Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.

Preferred:

* Experience with developing protocols for directed differentiation and maturation
* Prior knowledge or experience in stem cell biology or ocular biology.
