Duties and Responsibilities

- Design target molecules, viable synthetic pathways and carry out multi-step syntheses
- Conduct and interpret spectral and other analytical data independently
- Analysis of biological data around potential lead compounds to assist in the design of subsequent target molecules
- Collaborative interactions with structural chemistry (modeling and X-ray) to advance structure-based approaches to target molecules
- Demonstrate creativity, inventiveness and innovation to advance drug discovery programs
- Present data at internal chemistry meetings and project team meetings
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and regulatory guidelines governing commercial and scientific interactions with healthcare professionals, payers, advocacy and other business partners.
- Serve as a role model for compliant behavior that is consistent with the mission, vision and values of the ARIAD organization.

Requirements



- PhD with 2+ years of postdoc experience or PhD with 1 – 4 years of industrial experience in pharmaceutical research
- A very high level of motivation and proven track record of accomplishment (first author publications and presentations)
- The ability to conduct detailed literature searches for compound synthesis and project related needs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required as is the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
- Experience in supervising associates is a plus
- Strong commitment to business ethics
- Understanding of, and experience with, regulatory framework applicable to interactions with HCPs, payers, advocacy and other business partners
