Job Description


CytomX Therapeutics is unlocking the potential of antibody therapeutics in oncology by developing a novel therapeutic antibody class of highly targeted Probody™ therapeutics.  

We seek a highly motivated individual to discover and develop novel therapeutics that mobilize the immune system against cancer while protecting healthy tissue. The successful candidate will work as a bench Senior Research Associate in the Cancer Immunology Department and participate in efforts supporting the identification and validation of novel Probody forms of cancer immune therapeutics. This individual will help to progress therapeutic candidates from early discovery to IND-enabling studies.

Responsibilities

•   Develop and implement a variety of complex cellular assays primarily aimed at measuring response of human and mouse T cells
•   Perform ex-vivo immune phenotyping and functional characterization of immune populations from syngeneic tumor models
•   Troubleshoot assay performance as needed
•   Follow established protocols, as well as develop and apply new protocols as needed
•   Independently design, implement and analyze experiments, as well as follow and incorporate relevant published findings related to research, methodologies and technologies
•   Utilize literature to increase knowledge base and implement improvements
•   Interpret and analyze data, helping to incorporate results into overall scientific projects
•   Prepare and present technical information at internal/external meetings and contribute technical information for group presentations
•   Maintain vendor relationships, service contracts, and interact with CRO’s
•   Keep accurate and up-to-date records, communicate results and propose scientifically based recommendations

Requirements


Requirements

•   BS in biological science, with a minimum of five years’ industry experience in immunology or cancer immunology preferred or equivalent industry experience, education and training
•   Proficiency with multi-color flow cytometry is essential
•   Proven expertise with immunology techniques including immune cell isolation, T cell stimulation, antigen presentation, cytokine analysis and cytotoxicity assays
•   Hands-on expertise with tissue processing from syngeneic tumor models
•   Experience working with molecular biology techniques and biochemical assays is a plus
•   Motivated self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment with a proactive attitude
•   Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•   Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the flexibility to align daily work with project needs are crucial
