With only moderate high level guidance the candidate will be able to design and execute experiments for development and characterization of antibody process column chromatography, depth filtration, virus filtration and tangential flow filtration unit operations, including the use of Design Of Experiments statistical techniques. The candidate will be proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint for processing and sharing their experimental data, conclusions and next steps in a team meeting forum. Excellent English language oral and written communication skills, and ability to read and understand standard operating procedures, test methods and other technical documents are essential.

The candidate will also contribute material to, or act as primary author of technical development and technology transfer reports, and will be a primary contributor to transfer and support of antibody processes into Agenus West’s Phase I/II manufacturing facility and to external contract manufacturers for late phase process validation and licensure. The candidate may also act as a CMC Subject Matter Expert in both Agenus internal project teams and joint project teams involving external partners and CMOs. Technical support of manufacturing troubleshooting and resolution of deviations will be required. Occasional travel, for execution of virus safety studies, attendance at corporate meetings and person-in-plant oversight of CMO manufacturing runs, for example will be required. Ability to provide informal supervision over the day-to-day activities of junior staff, and flexibility to move between roles as an individual contributor and as a team player for rapid completion of complex objectives will be essential.
