Job Description

CytomX Therapeutics is unlocking the potential of antibody therapeutics in oncology by developing a novel therapeutic antibody class of highly targeted Probody™ therapeutics.  

We seek a highly motivated individual to characterize novel oncology targets and evaluate Probody drug conjugates (PDCs) for the treatment of cancer. The successful candidate will work as a bench Senior Research Associate in the Oncology Department and participate in efforts supporting indication selection, clinical assay development and Probody platform development to support the pre-clinical development of therapeutic antibodies.


•   Perform biochemical, molecular and functional assays to characterize PDCs i.e. cloning, protein expression
•   Troubleshoot assay performance and sample testing as needed
•   Participate in the screening and construction of combinatorial libraries
•   Characterize proteins based on cell-based activity assays
•   Follow established protocols, as well as develop and apply new protocols as needed
•   Independently design, implement and analyze experiments, as well as follow and incorporate relevant published findings related to research, methodologies and technologies
•   Utilize literature to increase knowledge base and implement improvements
•   Interpret and analyze data, helping to incorporate results into overall scientific projects
•   Prepare and present technical information at internal/external meetings and contribute technical information for group presentations
•   Maintain vendor relationships, service contracts, and interact with CRO’s
•   Keep accurate and up-to-date records, communicate results and propose scientifically based recommendations


•   BS/MS in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field, with a minimum of six years’ industry experience preferred
•   Proven expertise with cloning, cell-based assays and other molecular biology techniques
•   Experience working with drug conjugates preferred
•   Understanding of screening and construction of combinatorial libraries
•   Expertise with flow cytometry is a plus
•   Motivated self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment with a proactive attitude
•   Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•   Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the flexibility to align daily work with project needs are crucial
