Description

Primarily responsible for researching, writing and editing scientific publications as well as educational documents and medical information standard responses to support Depomed’s products. May assist in the development and formatting of clinical presentations and posters. Also responsible for interacting successfully with other departments and external service providers to ensure the timely development, review and publication of documents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•Work closely with external authors and internal cross-functional areas to develop high-quality manuscripts and review articles for peer-reviewed journals as well as abstracts, posters, and slide presentations for scientific congresses and internal use
•Assist in publication plans and strategic direction for scientific congress planning teams
•Liaise as needed with medical directors, biostatisticians, safety experts, and health economists as well as external opinion leaders, investigators, authors and journal editors
•May prepare/edit standard response letters and FAQ’s and acts as lead in the development and updating of these documents.
•Oversee the work of freelancers and vendors
•Perform QC review of existing documents or parts of documents

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
•Develops strong internal relationships with the R&D organization
•Takes responsibility for managing day-to-day workload for assigned tasks and projects, in collaboration with senior staff
•Keeps abreast of current data, trends, medical knowledge, developments and advances in the Pain Therapy space

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•MS, PHD, PharmD or MD degree
•Minimum 3 years relevant medical writing experience, focused on publications, for a biotech/pharmaceutical, medical communications agency or CRO
•Experience in CNS and/or Pain Therapy areas a plus
