We are looking for a Special Coagulation Supervisor (40 Hours a week, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) in our Elmwood Park, NJ location.


Under the directive of the Manager/Director, the Supervisor plans, organizes, schedules, and directs the department in order to effectively utilize employees and equipment to meet established turnaround time and material utilization within budgetary constraints while adhering to quality technical standards. The Supervisor provides direct on-site analysis of the day to day operation including adjustment of specimen workflow, test performance, quality, compliance, and associated documentation to adhere to the applicable regulatory agencies, company policies and procedures. Additional tasks can be assigned at the discretion of the Manager/Director.



•   Minimum of a 4 year BS/BA degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science and/or meets CLIA personnel standard criteria.
•   State Licensure, where applicable
•   ASCP or other national certification preferred
•   Mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills at the college level (2 years)
•   Minimum of 6 years laboratory experience as a medical technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory environment.
•   Working knowledge of Stago and ELIZA.
•   Experience using scientific rules and methods to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
•   Approved CLIA certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) preferred.
•   Previous pertinent laboratory experience, with demonstrated clinical and technical competence and prior supervisory experience desired.
•   Must have approved CLIA certification (ASCP, HHS, NCA, AMT or equivalent).
•   Must possess the ability to: communicate effectively (orally and in writing), establish and accomplish objectives, function independently and under pressure, organize work to prevent delays, demonstrate critical-thinking skills, and promote collaborative problem- solving both within the department and hospital-wide. Must have a working knowledge of laboratory concepts and applications, and all laboratory regulatory requirements
