Corporate Mission:

Singulex Corporation develops cutting edge, optically-based, ultra-high sensitivity protein detection systems for clinical diagnostics applications. Singulex products employ a wide range subsystems including lasers, scanning confocal optical systems, robotic plate handlers, liquid sample handlers, incubators, washers, sophisticated mathematical algorithms and state of the art control and analysis software. Singulex is looking for a talented, highly motivated individual to work in the Systems Integration Group to develop, test, release and support new diagnostics products.


Write scripts to automate and integrate immunoassays on liquid handling platforms.
Provide and schedule preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and fulfill QA/QC requirements.
Facilitate cross-department communication regarding status of equipment installation, scheduling annual and semi-annual preventative maintenance (PM), documentation, and addressing current needs and instrumentation concerns.
Act as liaison between outside service providers and end users.
Respond to service and support requests in a timely manner to maximize up-time and sample throughput in clinical, development and research settings.
Participate in on-call rotation to support instrumentation. This responsibility includes being on call on evenings, mornings, and or Saturdays up to 25% of the time.
Cover shifts when needed to provide additional support coverage, complete complex repairs, and conduct instrument testing
Provide instrument configuration and installation support for laboratory automation equipment.
Instruct end users in the proper operation and maintenance of complex laboratory instrumentation.
Prepare appropriate QA/QC documentation for preventative maintenance, instrument installation, and service.
Track and update root cause analysis documentation for instrument issues
Identify common failure modes, and implement improvements and upgrades
This is a hands-on, laboratory position and it is expected that the candidate will spend 80%+ time in the laboratory working on servicing instruments, including a large portion of time doing PMs.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor based on departmental needs.
May require travel up to 20% of the time.



BS/BA degree in engineering (with 0-6 years relevant work experience) or degree in related field (with 2-8 years relevant work experience and in-depth knowledge of system development principles, concepts, and theories) required.
Proven experience in developing and supporting laboratory automation for use in a regulated environment (e.g., TECAN Evo platform) desired.
Excel at troubleshooting critical laboratory instrumentation and documenting clear and complete Root Cause Analysis.
Proficiency in Evoware, Hamilton Star and Salesforce CRM software desired.
Experience with GLP and CLIA regulatory requirements preferable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as ability to understand, prepare, and communicate technical scientific information to a wide range of customers required.
Knowledge of immunoassay methods used for protein analysis, with experience in the following assay formats highly desirable: ELISA, bead (e.g., Luminex platform), or ECL a plus.
Knowledge of statistics, Design of Experimentation (DOE), Risk analysis (FMEA, Cause and Effect, Fishbone Diagram, etc.), and ability to compile clear and complete Root Cause Analysis documentation highly desirable.
Experience with In-Vitro Diagnostic product development within GLP, QSR, and ISO regulatory environment a plus.
