Responsibilities
•   The IAPI QC Biologist performs accurate and timely testing of routine and some non-routine lab samples in accordance with appropriate GMP and safety guidelines.
•   The Biologist supports laboratory operations to include second person verification of assay results, participation in laboratory root cause investigations, equipment evaluation and qualification, and quality system improvement initiatives by executing well-defined protocols and procedures.
•   The Biologist shares technical information and best practices between laboratories and functions.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications
•   Bachelor degree (4 yr College) in a biological science (e.g., microbiology or biology) or 7-10 years of demonstrated relevant microbiology experience in a GMP lab.
•   Proficiency with computer systems
•   Ability to work in a lab environment, including wearing appropriate PPE and other safety required equipment.
•   Demonstrate strong math and documentation skills
•   Demonstrate strong oral and written communication, as well as interpersonal interaction skills

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

Additional Skills/Preferences
•   Bachelor degree in Microbiology.
•   Prefer knowledge of LIMS
•   GMP lab experience preferred
•   Previous experience with technical writing associated with compendial method verification studies.
•   Previous experience with Lilly deviation and change control processes.

Additional Information
•   Must complete applicable ITP for Biologist-QC-IAPI.
•   Tasks may require repetitive motion and standing for long periods of time.
•   Must be able to lift at least 5 liters of liquid.
•   May be required to provide 24 hour coverage, as necessary.
•   Overtime or weekend work required, as necessary.
