The Protein Engineering Department is seeking an outstanding Senior Scientist to lead protein engineering and technology development projects. The candidate will be responsible for working closely with individuals in both protein engineering and immunology/oncology groups to innovate and develop the next generation of protein therapeutics for cancer treatment. The candidate will have access to state of the art protein and antibody engineering technologies and will be expected to continue our tradition of developing world class methods and technologies that enhance our therapeutic discovery efforts. The primary responsibilities include obtaining in-depth knowledge of the therapeutic targets of interest and using this information to formulate and design creative antibody/protein based therapeutics with high potential and new functionalities. This position requires the candidate to carry out hand-on lab work to apply protein engineering principles to generate novel protein therapeutics to target the immune system. The ideal candidate needs to have a strong understanding on how to engineer and characterize protein therapeutics. This work will also include close collaborations with biologists to design and evaluate different protein therapeutics of interest. The candidate needs to demonstrate strong desire and initiative to understand immunology and tumor biology, and help propose new ideas and techniques to discover next-generation therapeutics with unique functionalities.
