Job Description


CytomX Therapeutics is unlocking the potential of antibody therapeutics in oncology by developing a novel therapeutic antibody class of highly targeted Probody™ therapeutics. The current opening offers an opportunity to participate in moving novel Probody Therapeutics toward clinical investigation in a fast-moving and dynamic R&D environment.

We seek a highly-motivated individual to characterize oncology targets and evaluate Probody or Probody drug conjugates (PDCs) for the treatment of cancer. The successful candidate will participate in efforts supporting pre-clinical development of therapeutic Probodies from target identification to IND submission.

Responsibilities

•   Drive the Oncology pipeline forward by identifying novel targets and evaluating next generation of linker payloads for the development of PDCs
•   Apply biochemical, molecular and functional assays to characterize Probodies in a variety of in vivo and cell-based systems
•   Design efficacy and tox studies
•   Work with vendors and CROs to run studies as well as generate reagents
•   Keep accurate and up-to-date records, communicate results and propose scientifically based recommendations

Requirements


Qualifications

•   Ph.D. in cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology or related field
•   At least 5-7 years of relevant industry experience in oncology drug development is required
•   3+ years supervisory experience strongly preferred
•   Experience with ADCs is strongly preferred
•   Experience in protein engineering is strongly preferred
•   Skilled at independently developing immunization and screening strategies to discover custom antibodies for ELISA, western blot, immunoprecipitation assays, IHC and other reagent generation
•   A demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in oncology
•   Experience leading projects and working with cross-functional teams
•   Must have outstanding communication (oral and written) and presentation skills and will present project updates to Senior Management, partners as well as wider audiences
•   Ability to lead teams in a cross-functional work environment is critical
•   Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently are expected
