We are currently seeking a Senior Scientist to join our research organization in Indianapolis.  The successful candidate will be involved in designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo studies of nanoparticle-based small molecule drug candidates to understand the uptake of drug into tumors, cells, tissues as well as their metabolism and PK/PD relationships.  The initial focus will be quantitation of drug levels in tumor, tissue and cell types as well as subcellular compartments.  This requires the candidate to be well versed and open to learning techniques employed in both bio-analytics and molecular biology, such as HPLC-MS, hybridization-ELISA, PCR, Gel Electrophoresis and Imaging.  The successful candidate should have past experience supporting oncology projects.  He/she should be capable of representing the DMPK function on certain project teams working alongside with chemistry, pharmacology and formulation scientists.

Requirements

•   BS/MS/PhD in Biochemistry or Analytical Chemistry; Ph.D. with at least 6 years of industrial experience; BS with at least 12 years of industrial experience
•   Hands-on experience with HPLC-MS and ELISA is a must
•   Hands-on experience with sample extraction from tissue and plasma is a must
•   Willingness to learn existing techniques outside one’s field and to introduce new techniques is a must
•   Track record of developing or preforming in vitro DMPK assays is desired
•   Thorough understanding of PK concepts in theory and practice is desired
•   Proficient in WinNonLin Software is desired
•   Good verbal and written communication skills are a must
•   Strong work ethic, attention to details and good organization skills are required
•   Will work on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations
•   Demonstrated ability to think critically and to work independently as well as in a team setting is critical
•   Self-motivation, resourcefulness and innovative thinking are a must.
