Position Summary:

Cubist Pharmaceuticals is currently looking for a Sr. Research Associate in Process Chemistry R&D. The individual will work as part of our team to design and optimize processes, especially in the down-stream process area, for preclinical, clinical, and commercial drugs. The candidate will also provide scale-up purification and impurity purification supports to the various discovery and development projects. The typical purification scales range from gram up to kilogram. In addition, the qualified candidate will share responsibiities to manage our group material inventory.

Minimum Basic Qualifications:

   * M.S. degree in chemistry and at least 6 years of industry experience in process chemistry
   * Strong knowledge of purification and separation principles and organic chemistry
   * Ability to work in a chemistry laboratory in compliance with safety regulations
   * Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds is a must
   * Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without the need for sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

   * M.S. degree in chemistry-related displined plus 10 years of industry experience in process chemistry
   * Experience in using Biotage, prep-HPLC, Akta, MF/UF/DF, crystallization purification techniques
   * Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, NMR, LC-MS, IC and GC
   * Experience in scale-up purification and down-stream process development from bench to pilot plant by using DoE
   * Experience in authoring process development technical reports
